Zoom Class.
Friday, September 30, 2:00pm-3:30pm.
We will look at various depictions of angels, from Cherubs to Archangels, paying attention to the shapes and colors of the wings and the gesture of the bodies, flying, standing, kneeling, and facial expression. Angels show up in Judaism, Islam, and indigenous cultures as well. My favorite collection of angel images is this book, The Glory of Angels, by Edward Lucie-Smith, which I bought at Thrift Books online. We will then do several exercises to connect to the spirit of an angel and then draw, collage paint who you discover.
Wilson Barn, Oracle, Arizona.
Friday, October 28th, 10:00am-1:00pm
In the Celtic tradition, the days of the dead or Samhain is when the veils between the worlds are thin. It is a time to communicate and honor our deceased loved ones, including our ancestors, who go back in time.
In this workshop, after creating a safe space, we will collage photos of our loved ones, their favorite places, foods, and activities to make a shrine honoring them, using cigar boxes or small boxes as the base for our shrines. We will have an opportunity to do some journal writing as well.
